NURTURING IN NATURE

Postpartum foods are lovingly and thoughtfully created with priority given to local, organic, and seasonal produce and proteins. Further priority is given towards foods that support recovery, lactation, and postpartum nutritional needs. "Mothering the mother" or giving that taken-care-of, well-looked-after support to the birthing person so that they only have to (get to!) rest and recover, can be as simple as soup. Bone broths and veggie broths that serve as the base for soups and stews are all made from scratch.

Five 1-quart vacuum sealed bags of soups and stews, one bakeable item such as a shepherd's pie, snacks such as lactation cookies or energy balls, a loaf of bread from a local bakery, and one surprise goodie (!) are included in each order. Each bag serves 2 hefty servings of soup, and the bakeable serves ~4. On average, this equals about ~15 meals. Soups and stews are wonderful and complete as standalone meals, but may be supplemented with the included bread or one's own cooked grains, if desired. Food will be made in a commercial kitchen space and be delivered frozen, ready to be thawed or saved for later.

Current Rotation

Soup is love and my process is slow. Broth-making happens at the end of the week. Farmers' market shops and soup-making happens in a commercial kitchen space on weekends. Foods are frozen and ready to be delivered on a rolling basis. Deliveries within 5 miles of 78721 are at no extra cost.

Foods vary weekly depending on seasonal availability of produce. Generally speaking, the order will include one stew, one bean soup, one pureed soup, one brothy soup, and one porridge-y soup, in addition to the bakeable item and snacks. By default, the menu follows an omnivorous diet, with little to no dairy. All soups are gluten-free. Vegan and vegetarian diets can be accommodated with advance notice.
